Canevari Prosecco $17.99 (not TJ's) ***(*)

Birthday Dinner part I

13 people with diverse tastes.  What is the safest drink to serve? Something Bubbly! The beer drinkers still preferred their bubbly to be hops flavored, but the rest of us were quite pleased to have this bottle to ourselves!

This is a very light, refreshing and dry sparkling wine made in the Veneto region of Italy. I could easily imagine this versatile and inexpensive (look on the web, it can be found for around $12.99) bottle as a house sparkling for a little cafe in Venice.  It is very easy to drink, and could be sweetened with a splash of fresh orange juice for a GREAT mimosa, or simply just drink it and let the fine bubbles tickle your nose.

We had it with bowls of toasted almonds and a Japanese Wasabi Peas Snack Mix, as we chatted and waited to be called to the table.

Three stars because it is a solid, good, all around sparkling wine that has something to for everyone.  It would have been four stars, except the price point was a bit high. (We pay a premium here on the North Shore).
