TJ's Coastal Chardonnay $ 4.99 **

I've been watching Depression Cooking with Clara. I can't say that I'd actually make many of her meals so far, but it is eye opening to watch this 91 year old woman reminisce about her past and cook a quick, simple meal. In honor of Clara, I am going to make a late lunch of Peppers and Eggs. And to drink, I'll have the TJ's Coastal Chardonnay.

First sip while cooking - this is a pretty good wine. Well chilled, this wine has a clean taste, sweet finish. As the wine gets warmer, it turns slightly sour with a sharp aftertaste. Still ok, nothing I'd ever buy again - drinkable - there is better out there, and as soon as I find it, I'll blog about it.

Menu:
Spinach Salad with warm bacon dressing
Rustic Italian Olive Bread
Sauteed Peppers and Eggs

Clara is on to something. Peppers and eggs are a great lunch. I'll try it again when I have peppers fresh from my garden - with a different wine.
